the snowball effect

Did you ever start a simple home improvement job and find that it has snowballed? ..Tim was going to paint the front door and put up a new storm door last night, well we found out that the whole door frame is rotting away and has to be replaced ...we are talking like 2 grand here ..he is going to do a quick fix with wood filler until we get the money to replace it Oh well, what ya gonna do?

That happened to us all the time in our old house! We haven't really started too many projects here in the new house yet. The diswasher was quite an ordeal, it's still not wired "officially" yet (it's wired into a green drop cord that is strung out across the basement). The icemaker on the fridge isn't hooked up yet either. That part of the kitchen sit's right over the enourmous furnace.

The problem I have most is dh will start a number of projects and never quite finish one! (We never do that, do we ladies!)

LOL, yep lots of UFO's here. Mostly mine. Dh stays pretty focused on his if I stay with him. And yes to answer your question Teddymaker..dh and I are remodeling the computer room. We started out in the very beginning doing ok but then has a problem with the wainscoting fitting up against the window correctly so ended up having to buy, stain, poly and cut all new facing for the window trim, then of course it didn't match the rest of the trim work in here so we decided to change it all out..When dh said we should replace all the trimwork in the house I started running away..LOL. We have tons of trimwork and crown moulding here. I see what you mean..

I feel your pain Carolyn....sometimes I think my dh uses these projects as an excuse to go to Lowe's and Home Depot, and to but more gadgets and tools
