We bought this one in May 1988. It's the third house we've owned, but the 6th we've lived in. We spent two years living in another state, so that means we've lived here a total of 15 years.

I've lived in our home 3 years 1 1/2 months; Alister has lived there some 30 years, and except for a couple years when he lived in the city, he has always lived on this property. He grew up in the house next door, which was the first house built on the hill, sometime around 1900.

This one is the third we have owned too, and the fourth lived in, because of our year outside a city in a farmhouse renting.
Our first house we had for 16 years.
As a child I had lived in a house for 14 years, it was next door to my grandparents where my Dad grew up. We actually lived in my greatgrandparents house.
My uncle has a farm he must have lived there 30 years. He went away for about a year or so when his marriage split up but got the house again and his wife bought another one. His new wife got stuck into renovating straight away.
Our first house with dh was actually lived in by dh's first wife for 2 years, and I guess I just changed little things here and there, nothing that cost big money, just what needed doing, but it was a long time ago. It was home to me.
The house we are in now, is very like my childhood home, and it was quite by accident.

We have lived here for 5 and a half years. This is the third home we've lived in since we married almost 18 years ago. We rented one of my parents farm houses for 5 years, then purchased our first home down the road from my parents, we were there for 7 and a half years.
We wanted some acreage and saw this spot in a paper. We are on 8 acres now on the edge of a small village. We have horses, large gardens and lots of room for the kids to "roam"....we are quite content here. We are 2 hours from "home" but see family often.

This is the 2nd home we've bought. Our first one my MIL lives in since her dh is retired and so sick.
This one we have been in for 3 years now and we love it, plenty of room for the dogs to run and it's fenced in- in the back.
The first one is the one my MIL grew up in and so did DH, so when MIL was thinking of selling, we bought it good thing we did or they may not have a place to live.
Before that we were active duty Military and really didn't think of buying.

Countrygirl, dh was telling me all the differences in villages he saw in Ontario. Some had shops, it varied so much.
I grew up on a farm and it was very close to the hall and corner store or milk bar we call them. My Grandparents sent or went to the shop with a basket for their food.

Marty and I bought our current house in June of 1993, purchased it at an auction and we love it. So we've been here a little over 12 years. . . we just paid off our previous house (where his mom lives now) in December-- we've owned it for 20 years.
