Ok gals, remember I told you that dh and I were attempting to lay ceramic tile in our entryway, replacing el cheapo vinyl linoleum.. Well here are the before and after pictures. It has to be sealed yet and the area trimmed out with oak trim..but lookee...I am so proud of dh.. The first picture is the old vinyl and the next one is the new ceramic...

Tam~
He works for dinner. LOL. So if you cook him up a scrumptious dinner you can get him to work for you...LOL. He actually loves to do this type of thing. The man will tackle any job..I thought the colour was something that would work no matter what type of furniture or other flooring we chose. We are putting that same tile down in the kitchen, dining and also in the small laundry room. Should flow pretty well with the wood floors.. And the two bathrooms, which won't link up to the other tiling...will be done in 6 inch squares in a pattern that is more white than tan.

Thanks Jayne. Yes, they are so easy to care for. I wonder though, if they might be a bit chilly in the winter months. I don't know that I would want it all through my home but I sure am loving it in the entry way. The rest of our home will be hardwood someday..

They aren't chilly in this house, probably because we have the wood heater on 24x7. In our old house where it was -5oC in winter and we turned the heaters off at night, I probably wouldn't like tiled floors. It is hard for me to remember back that far now, that place seems like a world away.

pretty good for two green horns eh? lol. Acutally I was fairly easy, we made a couple mistakes but they were either fixable or coverable (is there such a word) Hope to do the laundry room soon.
