As you know we had ideas of renovating our bathroom. The window has been removed to have new glass put in, and that will go back in shortly. After that the basin has little room in front of it because the bath is reasonably close. The cabinet itself won't last too many more years.
We have come to a conclusion about the bathroom, and definitely won't be doing anything apart from the window, because we had forgotten that, because we have white ants, any work apart from the work in the kitchen we have started cannot be done. They are being baited and you have to wait 6 months for it to work. So that also fixes any decisions about carpet in the dining room and lounge. It will have to wait.
That is good in some ways, it may give me a chance to buy the Ikea bathroom basin set that I liked on their site. Ikea is 5 1/2 hours from here and I didn't have the time to rush down there just yet.
So the shower will be installed in the laundry, which makes access for our teenage son much easier as the bathroom came off the bedrooms. It will cut down the amount of wet air going into the linen cupboard in the bathroom.

In the end the white ant specialist said we had disturbed the ants from our work in the kitchen, and he concentrated his efforts outside.
Today we were near Ikea, but the pipes would have shown underneath their cabinets. So on the way down dh picked up a 910cm vanity from Reece. We have a similar one in our current house. We got semi recessed so it was narrow. DH sat it besides the current vanity today in the new to me house, and it looks like the pipes will line up. The 910 is wider, so therefore it will cover the current gap between the vanity and the wall, which being dark and unfinished scares me, reminds me of snakes. I was taught to check places you couldn't see in properly for snakes visually as a child, ie by turning on a light etc.
The window is back in with extra patterned glass in the top half.
The new vanity is posh bristol same as our taps. Though we have a couple of look alikes because of the solid wall needing bib and pillar taps.

Everything went in perfectly. In the snake hole previously there was a big hole partly through the wall. The basin is positioned under the existing wall mirrored cupboard and handtowel rail. It is lovely can't wait to use it. There is only a small piece of lino missing along the front of it, which is a shame. We do have to plug some of the brick where the taps were moved over the bath, as they were previously put wherever.
