The painting in that room is finished and it is very modern. We used a little booklet from Taubmans with elastic marker to choose the color, on the green page. The carpet in the lounge has come up. Today the edges of the benches in the kitchen have been taken off to take out the knife marks. Mortar has been added to smooth up the bricks on the floor of the old chimney breast under the dishwasher. Some of the walls have been washed. The wiring is finished including installing ceiling fans where there were once round vents. Two curtains have been hung, though I may change my mind about one of them. Need a new pic to show the painting and curtain.

DH is painting out the kitchen cupboards inside, and putting little pieces of wood to cover any gaps.

Today we bought paint for outside and door hardware. We have a color similar to the original for window trim from the Taubmans chart that where you follow a line of colors for a scheme, but basically it is the same as what we had. Lots of lovely things in the hardware shop paint section that we hadn't seen before. We have painted two floors with tung oil twice.

Here is the paint like the original window color. And the pickets. We are getting some work done tomorrow so very excited.

Nearly finished washing all the walls. I think we have the bathroom and laundry and maybe half of the front room to do plus two vents. We still have a strange smell possibly coming from a wall in the spacious toilet. It could mean we need new cladding on the window wall or to paint the concrete with paving paint. The back door has been painted now, there is more wiring to be done to fix up the light switch situation. I have bought a light from ebay for this area, not sure what lights suit a sloping ceiling.

This is the annoying last bit of building work that needs doing. It has been 7 months since we bought the house, one month of autumn is gone. But I think we are getting there. We have to paint the verandah. The door has been painted. After the cladding goes on, we have the gutters to put back on, and may remove 3 trees and leave one maple and one crepe myrtle. Also we have to find a way to fix the line, dh has done it before, but this one is a bit different. We have a nasty gap at the right hand side of the door frame.
