The latest evidence of me doing that is wanting terrylene crossover curtains for the front entry. Have you been known to do this?
My new house is 40s so this seems the safest option for me at the moment. Well I am trying to stay away from making the house look like it is still in that era. I am keeping the modern paints in the two striking rooms.
The crossover curtains are double and near the front door and will help a lot with privacy.
I find I keep to the vintage things that my family had rather than all vintage, for family history's sake I guess.
I guess one thing leads to another. I bought cream repainted kitchen dining table and chairs because ours need repainting and I need them in the current house to sell it. I also got an old dresser because it was the right size for the wall for neatness, similar cream color. I also had wear on some old canisters that I bought in the mid 80s that we use all the time and saw some and bought them recently to replace. They have a pink top, possibly 60s color. There is a paint book out at the moment with spiral edge. It has a neutral paint called rainsong that I am using, and it had this 60s color as one possible accent, so I am happy.
My window size has also been a big influence as I can get vintage curtains to fit for a quick fix. There were few curtains there, some have tears.
I am not completely into shabby or country, just bits and pieces that suit me.
Have you ever searched "shabby" on ebay? Maybe "prim" or "country"?
