I'm weighing the pros and cons of having a dishwasher. I own one, but it hasn't been installed in my new kitchen yet. There is a pic of my kitchen on this page: home.earthlink.net/~dzblondegirl/id1.html It is the 3rd one down on the left. I'm sorry they load slow on dial up. The place it has to go is down there to the left of the sink. Either that, or at the end of the cabinets on the left out of the picture. (There's one more cabinet there) I don't want it that far from the sink, more than I don't want to lose that entire corner of storage space. Kwim? So, how bad do I want my dishwasher? It's not too bad now with cooking on the grill and using paper plates, but that can't last forever. What do you think?

You're right Karen, slooooow loading LOL
Without looking at the pics yet, I would say How bad do you hate doing dishes? If the answer is dishes are like laundry, there is no end to them. I say put it in if your water source (well?) can handle it. And I would keep it as close to the sink as possible.

Karen, we have a dishwasher but we also have county water. I would die without mine But like Deed said if you hate doing dishes and they are never ending then go for it.

Karen,
Just my 2cents.....I would definitely have one, even if you only use it occasionally..I woud put it right next to the sink..if it is a built in, you won't loose the counter space, just the cupboard. Can't wait to hear what you decide.
Hugs

I don't mind washing the dishes. The warm water and repetition are relaxing for me, but I'm spending too much time standing at the sink while the munchkins destroy the living room! Dh's going to get it installed before fall.

I am late coming in on the dishwasher dilema but I would have put it in too. I hate doing dishes. My dishwasher is one of my favorite appliances. I love your house, it is wonderful!

Yeah, we've been here 6 weeks, I'm still rearranging and misplacing things, lol. One day the towels are in one drawer, the next day that "towel drawer" has baggies in it! Some things just haven't found a "home" yet, like the salt and pepper.

Looks great Karen, and it will take a while before you finally decide on the right location of everything. It'll come in time, don't worry.
