While I was out yesterday at our regional centre, I remembered to ask my son to look in a large supermarket or grocery chain for a moth trap. I haven't had one before but knew they were advertising them so were more likely to have one in stock. I looked a couple of years ago, even though we were told the chain stocked them but couldn't find any. I found a jar of split peas with alot of moths in it, and used them up after alot of rinsing etc. There was a small hole in the lid of the mason jar/agee jar, maybe that is how they got in, not sure. Have you ever used one of these? They probably could be used where you store sunflower seeds etc. www.ecoshop.com.au/asp/product.asp?recorprod=1&product=193&cat=52&ph=&keywords=&recor=1&SearchFor=&PT_ID=1

That sounds like a smart idea. I have had these little moths or flies in the kitchen lately. A friend of mine gave me a big bag of huge walnuts and they are drying out in trays in the kitchen and these flying things are hovering over them. They did that with the apples I had in there too.

I can't remember what my husband calls those. Vinegar flies perhaps?

There was talk about this on the radio on Wednesday. The ladies who said they got rid of them all spoke of having taken every single thing out of the pantry first, and wiping the shelves down and then drying them. Then cleaning out all canisters, containers, etc., and throwing out all opened packets of things.
