Michelle, a comforter~~is that the top blanket we put on our bed which in fact decorates our bed?.....If so, well--The boys' top comforter on their bed, I wash about every 2 months. Their blankets and ours-- about every month...not sure...
The top comfortor of our bed which is queen size is hard to wash in my my washer...it's squeezed in...so I need to take to the laundromat. I wash it much less frequently--about twice a year, but I do put it on the line outside about every month, except winter time.

Blankets and quilts are washed once every 6 months or depending on when they need it..I have to do the quilts at the laundry ma, as they are king size and won't fit in the washing machine..

ROFLOL...Heck Deed, why even put bedding on then..and do they all sleep with you honestly..Must be a crowded bed..LOL Yep Car VERY crowded! Let's see, Ralphie sleeps under the blankets all day usually and the rest sleep on top during the day. But when we go to bed, it isn't uncommon to have at least 10 of them trying to snuggle up with us. I don't mind of course, but Jack can get a bit testy, LOL I usually have one at my head and Bub, Sid, Peanut and Prissy right in my face! LOL Oh and we only have a queen sized bed. So yes I wash sheets, blankets and quilts and comforters bi-weekly and weekly. That's why I do more laundry than most of you with kids. ;D

LOL Deed no wonder you have insomnia sometimes! All that purring would keep me up for sure!
I wash ours about once a month, we have a washer that will accomidate up to a queen sized comforter. I have the quilts done twice a year at the cleaners they are so old I'd hate to have anything happen to them.

Enjoyed reading the chit chat back and forth about the cats. I have 2 cats and a dog who also like my bed. I don't wash big comforters but a couple times a year, but weekly I toss them in the dryer on low or no heat and I'm amazed at the cat hairs the lint catcher gathers. Makes me feel like they are bit more clean when I remake the bed after washing the sheets.

LOL Deed no wonder you have insomnia sometimes! All that purring would keep me up for sure! . Does it sound like a motorized bed? I do ours once a month or so. I have a quilt that I do less often on top. Its a store bought one and its not holding up well.
