I bought a big box of vintage linens (doilies mostly) and vintage lace at a yard sale. The lace is okay but I need to wash the doilies before I try and resell them. Does anyone know how to so this? They are yellowed mostly and of course, smell musty.
BTW I paid $5 for a big box of these things. Just incredible! Many are handmade including some "yokes" and collars that go over the top of your dresses. My lucky find.

Pat~
I use to yard sale for old linens and fabric... Here is what I did. I boiled them in a big pot with just water and a touch of baking soda and vinegar. The vinegar will take out the musty smell. I wouldn't use bleach on them...And I would hand wash them after boiling..Not machine washing, too harsh
You can also hang them outside in the sunlight to dry which will help the yellowing and the smell.
I love the old collars...I have several of them, one that my granny made me when I was in highschool.
Can't wait to see your *stash* lucky YOU
