I just harvested six gorgeous heads of romaine lettuce and look at all that still remain!!! ...DD took 4 and we are having one for dinner tonight and probably one for lunch tomorrow

I'm telling you, you must have magic in your green thumb...first those gorgeous african violets and now giant lettuce!

They look very yummy Jayne. They look a little like cos lettuce. I am not sure if gardeners here plant romaine or not. I feel a little out of the loop.
I am glad your vegetables and herbs are going so well.

It is cos lettuce! jumping up and down lol.
We started buying some in 2003 when I saw some in a recipe.
Now I will be able to understand what people are saying when they talk about their romaine lettuces!!

Thanks Lynn...It took us many years to get that soil right...we had alot of failures and I was about to give up vegetable gardening..this year is the payoff!! Linda...romaine is my favorite lettuce....We had the best salad last night!!!

Lynn, I made chicken salad and put it on a bed of romaine, with sliced tomatoes, red, yellow and orange sweet peppers sliced and some slices of vidalia onion, oh and some baby carrots...It was soooo good!!!
