Happy Monday to all! More questions to ponder!
1) What is the weather like in your neck of the woods today?
2) Do you have a favorite childhood toy you still keep? Does it have a story behind it?
3) Grandmothers - tell us about yours!
4) What's for breakfast this morning?

1) What is the weather like in your neck of the woods today?
It's sunny and already 64 here this morning - headed to 85 today!
2) Do you have a favorite childhood toy you still keep? Does it have a story behind it?
I have 2 - a stuff dog wearing overalls with jingle bells on the straps that I named Mr. Bojangles. He was so well loved that Mom had to patch his legs. I keep him in the top of the closet in the guest room, because I don't want him to get ruined by my little darlings. And, I have a stuffed Eeyore that my Daddy bought for me when we visited Disneyland when I was about 10 (38 years ago). Eeyore saw me through much teen angst and divorce. He is currently wearing the red bandage that my oldest DD had on her arm for the IV when she had her tonsils out. I let her take him into the operating room with her.
3) Grandmothers - tell us about yours!
My Grandma M. was truly a country woman. For most of her life she lived in a house with no electricity or running water, and cooked on a wood stove. I remember visiting when I was small and she would always make chocolate gravy for me for the biscuits. No one in the world made better biscuits. She always wore a dress and an apron. She had a ladder back chair she sat in, which was in the corner under her calendar. She marked on the calendar most days - the weather, who visited, if they sold cows - etc. I inherited the calendars. I also remember that she never sat at the table and ate with us. She always stood at the counter, ate from a bowl and used a spoon!
My Grandma C. was a large woman, boisterous and fun. She was a wonderful baker with a German heritage. She made Springerle cookies for Christmas every year (taste like licorice if you don't know what they are). I hated them when I was little, but I make them now! She was very crafty. Every time we visited she had something for me. She and my Grandpa C.(who was disabled) painted ceramics and sold them.
4) What's for breakfast?
We had bacon, toast and bananas.

2) Do you have a favorite childhood toy you still keep? Does it have a story behind it? No, not that I can think of.
3) Grandmothers - tell us about yours! Paternal grandmother was a little tiny fiesty woman. She couldn't read or write, but could she ever cook! She had 5 children, lost 2 of those when they were toddlers to unknown illnesses. Raised a family during the depression, but had the ability to make something out of just about nothing. I remember her strong faith and her wonderful laugh and sense of humor.
Maternal grandmother was elegant. She was a good cook and loved to entertain. I remember her for her sewing and quiliting abilities.

The weather is nice today, cool but very sunny.
My childhood toy is my doll Susie. I wasn't a dolly type of girl, but I did like her and the kindness some of my older friends showed by giving me clothes for her and sewing for her. My mother knitted her an outfit as well.
One I called Grandma the other Nana. Grandma was sweet and was born in Scotland. Nana was a great cook and loved her Aussie Rules footy. She also liked her garden.
This morning I had Weetbix and Weatharts! With milk of course.
