Yesterday dh and I went fishing, which was a real treat as I love to fish. We went on a lake that is 10 minutes from our house. The wind was calm, lake was like glass, and the birds were singing up a storm, BEAUTIFUL! Anyway, we fished for three hours, caught 41 fish. Pan fish mostly, like bluegills and perch, I caught this really big crappie...biggest one we got yesterday! Then we came home and cleaned and filleted them. We put them in an ice-cream bucket filled with water and put it in the frig. So this afternoon I decided I needed to bag them up in zip-loc bags and freeze them. Well, I wheeled to the frig, (remember I'm the one in the wheelchair!) I opened the door, took the bucket full to the top with water and set it on my lap...trying to balance the bucket of water and fish...close the door and wheel to the sink all at the same time. (Can you say "multi-task"?
Well, I am VERY graceful, (in case you didn't know that little fact) and I promptly tipped the bucket right over...fish stayed in the bucket, water ALL OVER THE FLOOR, and me trying to decide what I should do. Ya know, it was the should I laugh or cry decision again! I was wishing I knew some of Carolyn's grandmother's German swear words. LOL
I decided to laugh...ha, ha...ha ha. I have a lake in the kitchen, and lots of Bounty trying to soak it up. *sigh* All the while, Tim is outside and don't know the wonderful mess his wife just made. Well, I could only soak up so much with the paper towels, I just gave up and decided to finish my chores of bagging up the fish. So my kitchen now has puddles and wheel marks all over the place. *another sigh, even bigger*
Tim comes in the house, sees the floor and said, "How did you make a lake from the frig all the way to the sink?"
I replied, "Talent honey, pure talent." ;D
Well, dear heart that he is, he finished wiping up the water and my muddy tire marks. All on Father's day.
Oh well, just another day in my life...just thought you'd want to know!
Blessings~
