I just finished a beautiful true story called, "Pearl, Her Love Touched Two Worlds." I read it when I was a teenager and spent years looking for it. I finally found it on Amazon.com and ordered it. I checked out some of Fannie Flagg's books from the library... call me a prude.....the frequent profanity makes me very uncomfortable.... . Anyone care to share what you are reading? I need some recommendations!

I have two book going now Lynn. I highly recommend anything by Max Lucado. He is an awesome Christian author.
The newest read for me is his books....
*It's Not About Me* and *Cure For The Common Life*
I received these latest two additions to my collection for Christmas.
I am sure the library would have one of his writings.
What is everyone else reading?

I am currently *reading* with my ears, just love audio books for when I'm working around the house. "The Europa Conspiracy" by Tim LaHaye. Excellent adventure series for anyone who enjoyed the "Left Behind" series!!

Last night I started The Christmas Quilt by Jennifer Chiavirini (sp?). I just finished S is for Silence by Sue Grafton. I have a couple of Robin Gunn Jones novels in the wings and a Grace Livingston Hill book.

I did finish one of the Fannie Flagg books I had started called "Standing In The Rainbow." It was very good. The other I never picked up again.
Now I have my nose stuck in Adrianna Trigiana's "Queen of the Big Time". Love her books. And "Mrs. Julia Throws A Wedding" by Ann B. Ross. Just starting on it.
Also have a new devotion book given to me by my secret sister at church. It is by Joyce Meyer. Very practical, applicable wisdom.

Just got The Regime by Tim LaHaye, Healing is a Choice by Stephen Arterburn, Light From Heaven by Jan Karon, The Preachers Daughter by Beverly Lewis, Battlefield of the mind (Devotional) by Joyce Meyer, and Facinating stories of Forgotten Lives (Rediscovering some Old Testament Characters) by Charles R Swindoll. So I have plenty of reading to do in the next coming weeks.

I just wrote about them in the other thread, but two books I recommend are:
"The Lovely Bones" - from the perspective of a teenaged girl looking down from Heaven
"The Dive from Claussen's Pier" - a young woman's exploration of herself when her fiance is paralyzed in a diving accident
Both sound depressing, and while there are some sad moments, I found them more uplifting than not.
