I just started reading her books and I love them! She writes murder mysteries, along the same lines as Janet Evanovich. Her main character is Meg - who is a blacksmith. She has the usual assorted strange family members, and always ends up having to solve a murder mystery.
All the books are bird themed - the first is Murder with Peacocks.

Actually there was another one, but I can't remember the name of it.

Thanks, Cheryl, I've never heard of the author - time for a trip to the library! I love murder mysteries.
Have you read the series where the main character is a caterer? They are themed murder mysteries too, with titles like Prime Cut and the Frying Game. The author is Diane Mott Davidson, and she includes recipes in the books.

Yes! I just finished the last one Dark Tort. Everytime I read one of her books I keep thinking - how does Goldy keep getting catering jobs when she is always finding bodies? LOL!

She sure is busy, Cheryl! I love having the food descriptions in amongst the storyline - a nice distraction.
Haven't see Dark Tort, I'll have to double check at the library. I hope she keeps writing them. It was a librarian where I used to volunteer who suggested the series to me.

That is funny because I had never heard of her either. We were in downtown Charlotte to take Amanda and Katie to a Dora Live show a couple of years ago. We got there early and were walking around the mall connected to the theater. There was a bookstore there. So, I went in and found a couple of books to read. As I was buying them I started talking with the owner about loving Janet Evanovich - and that is when he told me about DMD. I love the series type of books. I love Sue Grafton as well.

I'm off to the library this morning to hunt for Donna Andrews and Sue Grafton. I think I've read nearly every English murder mystery ever written, time to start on the Americans now!

Well I'll be busy - I've got one book by Donna Andrews and three by Sue Grafton. There were heaps of Sue Grafton books, all with names relating to letters of the alphabet. I love it, it means I only need to remember the letters that I've read not the whole title. I'll let you know how the books go.

Yes - Sue is great - I try to remember her letters and Evanovich's numbers!
