One of the questions sometimes asked during an interview with a famous person is "what book changed your life?".
Now I love reading, and do read a lot, but still can't think of a book off the top of my head that's changed my life. There have been many books that have moved me greatly, such as the brilliant If This is a Man by Primo Levi, but they've added layers to my understanding of life, not changed the course of it.
However there are a few that have certainly impacted on how I see and do things. They are:
The Tightwad Gazette series
Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominiguez and Vicki Robins
Making Money Made Simple by Noel Whittaker
Is There Life After Housework by Don Aslett (what a great motivation tool, too!)
I can't add the Bible to the list, because I still haven't read it through. My attention span isn't brilliant, neither is my memory, resulting in me starting to read the Bible a number of times, but losing track and stopping for months.
There was an excellent text book on Child Development that saw me through my kids early years too.
What about you? Has a book impacted so greatly on your life that it's moved you to action in some way?

I was trying to think of a good chapter of the bible to save not getting to the end in one go. I think I liked Matthew. I guess it depends what you want to get out of it. I do follow a few scriptures as a guide to life decisions, but learnt them as part of my growing up I guess.
I have the book, my son had the quotes on our bathroom wall last year, Primo Levi, I haven't read it though. He had to learn the quotes for school.
I'll have to have a think.
Baby & Child by Penelope Leach did affect the spacing of my children, rightly or wrongly.
Same for a baby name book. I have a few that have made a difference at least in my thinking about naming children. Not sure how to say what I mean.
I remember I bought every copy of For Me magazine as it was so revolutionary at the time.

dh was saying since Job is the oldest book in the Bible it could be a starting point. I didn't know that. These discussions are great.
Some Christians would say the most life changing part of the Bible is John 3:16.
I'm not sure if it was organising books that gave me something to think about or the show "Your Life On The Lawn".
I know I have spent many peaceful hours reading the Little House books by Laura Ingalls, so they are life changing in that you can save yourself being highly strung, or at least in my case lol.

Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominiguez and Vicki Robins was a book that changed my view about our life and what we really wanted in life. Then I started to begin my search to learn more about voluntary simplcity.

The Bible!
And then a book written by the founder of Home Interiors. Very inspiring and motivating.
