Do you seek them out, or avoid them? In the book group I've recently taken a break from, many of the books we read had won the Booker Prize. Some, like the Life of Pi, were interesting, some, like The God of Small Things, were just plain awful, imho. Perhaps originality is a major criterion, but surely a book needs to be readable?

My problem is that I am not up with the Booker prize and the other prizes. I have noticed a couple of stickers on some books we have had this year.
