I was reading my book The Outlaws Twin Sister by Stephen Bly and it is set in New Mexico. The outlaw was half Mexican and was counting to ten. The same way I count to ten. I always thought I was counting to ten in Italian. That would explain why my children were taught slightly different. They were learning Italian and I learnt the numbers in Spanish.
I can't beleive it. I grew up with both Spanish and Italian friends and all this time I thought I had learnt it in Italian!
