The library has the follow on to this book so I have reserved it. So thankfully I will have some reading to go on with.
Whence Came A Prince by Liz Curtis Higgs.

Hopefully I will get a book by Kerry McGinnis, a biography named Pieces Of Blue by the end of the month. Her other book The Waddi Tree has a huge queue. " At the age of 6, Kerry McGinnis loses her mother. Her grief-stricken father, Mac, is left with 4 young children to raise. After a desperate attempt to manage alone, Mac gathers up his family and leaves the city to go droving. For the next 15 years, the McGinnis clan travels the continent, droving, horse breaking and living off the land. Schoolrooms, comfort and civilisation are a long way off as Kerry grows up in the harsh outback, where the animals are often her closest friends. Wild adventures and strange encounters colour their days, and by night their father tells tall tales around the campfire. With the memory of her absent mother ever present, Kerry begins her difficult journey to young womanhood." tinyurl.com/y9ttry

I have finished Whence Came A Prince, so have read all three books in that series.
There is another book with the same characters called Grace In Thine Eyes.
I didn't really get into the two Australian books I borrowed.

It took me a few minutes to remember why Liz Curtis Higgs sounded familiar. I have a book she wrote a few years ago called "Bad Girls of the Bible".
I might have to check into her new stuff.
Did you like the series BR?

I did yes. At first I thought I wouldn't like it. Seemed too far back and therefore heavy going, but it wasn't. The first in the series is Thorn in my Heart. www.amazon.com/Thorn-Heart-Liz-Curtis-Higgs/dp/157856512XI love the cover pictures, the quotes at the beginning of each chapter, it was all nice. The only slightly bad part for me was what happened to Rose in the third book and it was a case of how blessed I am that I live in a modern world.
