Haven't read much of this so far, but it's been recommended as interesting. It's a book about a cult that sprang up in a local church, with connections to other parts of Australia, called the Fellowship. They would not define themselves as a cult, however the Presbytarian church they were active in has expelled them.
This particular group is active in our local area; they intermarry, work only in approved areas/businesses, and generally keep to very strict rules. A family we went to primary school with is a member of this group, and is a lovely woman, but has many restrictions on her life, not all of which seem healthy.
