I bought this for son number 1 for Christmas. It's one of those things we've seen mentioned from time to time and thought we must get. Well, finally I did, and yesterday had a good look through it.
Many of the topics in the Survival Guide are covered in Carla Emery's book, however the one chapter I was amazed/repulsed by was the chapter on emergeny medical care. They went as far as describing amputations and tying off arteries, which would certainly be helpful if in a plane crash etc., but ick, I found it positively frightening even imaging being in the circumstances where I'd need to know things like that.
It's certainly interesting reading.
