I've got friends who buy huge novels to read when they go away. Things that cover the lives of a family for generations, romantic novels, that sort of stuff. I'm not a fan of those genres myself, and don't want to waste my money on magazines, so I think a trip to the library might be in order.
I've never taken library books on holiday because I worry too much about losing them, which is silly really.
If I'm lucky there will be a few Sue Grafton murder mysteries awaiting me at the library to read in the sun.

I have borrowed books from libraries far away and then given them back. I forget the exact details. I borrowed one, or rather my son borrowed one for me. I know what you mean though, like it is wrong somehow.
The largest book I have read is "R oots" after I saw the TV show.
I have one book left, but I think some will come to the library tomorrow. I have been thinking I wouldn't mind a Christmas magazine to see what is going on there.

Mine isn't going away reading, but more school holiday reading. My husband will be home as well.
Some I may read before then, like Forged in the Fire by Ann Turnbull as I have just finished book one and this is book two.
Today these books came for me:
Faith by Lori Copeland
and Love's Long Journey by Janette Oke.
It is the only book I haven't read in that series and I am pleased to have it in my hands finally. It is when Missy leaves home with her husband to the West to be a rancher's wife.

Aren't libraries wonderful, Br? There's just nothing I like more than a new library book, a comfy chair and a cup of tea! ;D

I agree!  At this time of year a shortbread is nice too. Although I noticed I enjoyed shortbread more with aircon. Maybe I just wasn't in exactly the right frame of mind lol, and it wasn't the heat. |

Well I have read those lol. The kids reckon I am a fast reader. When I hadn't read for awhile it was hard. I must be getting better. I think I am skimming a little.
Today I got to the best bit, and that is when the kids became demanding, isn't it always the way lol 100% of the time I think. Maybe that is why I didn't read for awhile lol. ;D
