It's too hot to concentrate at the moment. Also, with dh home sick the TV is on all the time, which drives me crazy.
I'm still reading my Bill Bryson book, but only in short bursts. I've been reading a small book about raising adolescent girls with the rude, but often appropriate title of " The Princess Bitc*face Syndrome". The title refers to a comment made to the author, a psychologist, by one of his patients. The book has some excellent information about the developmental stages of girls from 12 - early 20's. There are certainly similiarities in raising boys, but girls present their own set of problems.

That sounds like a very interesting book, especially since my eldest are boys too.
My daughter commented that I haven't gotten very far with my book today. I am reading a novel about the mounties in Canada set in 1910. It is the second in the series.
I haven't been able to purchase a Family Circle, but I think dh is working on it.
Have read a small Scottish cookbook and a small map/information book dh bought in Canada, well skimmed through them.

I find I am learning bits and pieces because the book written by Janette Oke ties in well with the series about Montana I read earlier by Tracie Peterson.
