Would there be any interest in a quilt block swap in the future? Perhaps we could each swap with one person, or make one for each person signed up.
Anyone?

I'd love to do this, but later in the year once I get caught up on all my stuffs! LOL. Also it would have to be very simple (like 4 blocks or so for me, not real good at this hobby yet. Great idea Car, so count me in! either way would work.

I'm no great quilter, and I live in Australia, but I would LOVE to be involved. Maybe swap with one partner this time around, it would be less daunting if we only made one block.

missviolet...we certainly could do a one on one block swap. When I was involved before we had to make I think it was 7 or 8 blocks, it was fun but time consuming.. I bet more folks would come to swap if we did it where we only had to make one blocks. That is a great option. Thanks ~~~and Austrailia is no problem. We have a couple members from Australia, one from Canada and I believe one from England. We love our international friends..:-)

Ok gals, I am bumping this thread. Do you all think your ready to do one quilt block to swap with a partner. Ideas on patterns, sizes, dates, etc...appreciated???

Ready and waiting......lol..
I have also read of another cute and easy idea - a fabric swap. They swapped a few pieces of fabric cut to a nominated size. That would sure be quick.
Otherwise, how about some color suggestions then take a vote? Personally, if it has some shade of burgundy in it, then I'm happy!

I think a 12" block (that is the finished size) or 12 1/2" unfinished is a great size. You can make a pillow front out of just one block. Yes everyone can let us know what their favorite color is in this thread, that way who ever gets your name has an idea of what you like. I can do it anytime, it's you mom's that have to let us know how long it would take you to make a block up. Oh and I like surprises, so any color is fine by me. ;D

ooh ooh ooh!!! I would love to! I would need a week to get one done at least. Things are getting back into a routine here, but with 3 kiddos, sometimes things don't go as planned. I think a 12x12 in finished block would be great. (not sure what the dimensions are in metric measurements.) Oh, and my favorite color is purple. Any shade. I like anything from lavendar to deep royal purples. Miss Violet, I have been involved in a fat quarter swap before. I would imagine that was similar to what you posted about. That was fun too.

I have one of those with Grace on it. If you can use it it would be great.

A week or two sounds good, and the cushion idea is a great one! Although we're metric over here, quilting is still done in inches, and we still use quilters' quarters. A lot of the stuff we buy here is American, so I suppose that's why.

I'd love to join in on this too, if it's just one block that we're making. Otherwise, it could take forever for me to complete one. I agree with the 12 1/2" size as it seems to be very popular, and it will be easier for me to find one that I can make. I'll need at least 2 weeks for a deadline. I like the idea of a FQ swap or even a train too Oh, and for colors, let's see...I really like pale purple/lilac (not electric '70's purple), and I could make a small wallhanging for my downstairs bathroom, which we will be painting purple soon. Or, blues...I love blue too
