WTG Tammie, I love them! Okay, I can sew and make quilts, but have a really hard time picking fabrics especially for log cabin blocks, could be why I haven't made any yet. LOL So help me out here, how do you decide on what fabrics to use? How do you get them to graduate in color so well? TIA

Forgot to say, I love that pieced border on the reproduction fabric one. Great way to use up scraps and fit in with your quilt!

Dee, I have a hard time with colors too...I use pattern's that I pick to make to help me. I had bought the Eleanor Burn's book "Log Cabin Quilt In a Day". I used pics and advice in that book to tell me how to pick out the colors and how to sew it togerther! Same with the reproduction quilt, found a quilt pattern in a book and tried to make my colors mimick the ones in the patter! Guess I cheat alot!! But sometimes I'm very color challenged and it's tough to pick good colors, I just like so many!! LOL So, patterns help me alot. Hope that helps!

Okay Tammie, so I cheat and use the book as a guide, got it! Karen, I think I have that book! I'll have to go on a search in my um..... sewing room and find it.

Stunning! You do beautiful work. The first one is very patriotic and the second one to me reminds me of my great aunt who was a wonderful woman who loved to quilt. Reminds me of a quilt on one of her beds.
