I just finished making a quilt with the whole top being made out of corduroy. NEVER AGAIN!! I thought it would make a nice warm quilt top...and it did. It's very soft, and it's definitely warm since I gave it a batting and flannel backing. But it was beastly to work with and there was fuzz and more fuzz everywhere. (esp. inside my machine). It had lots of stretch and give to it when I'd try to piece it together, made it really difficult to make points meet and such. It frayed and fuzzed up my whole house, never in my life was I so thankful for a lint roller!! ;D Anyway, just wanted to warn anyone that wanted to make a quilt top out of that material, it can be done, but boy does it take lots of extra work and patience!

Glad you got it done and you are so right, corduroy is very linty!

I've used small pieces of corduroy in my quilts but never enough to fuzz up my house ;D and your right it does have a lot of stretch to it

What was neat, was that I made this for a gift for a young man that my aunt and uncle took in....I don't know him at all. I saw him at our family gathering last month and he told me thank you for the quilt and how much he liked it! That was neat!

That is neat, Tammie. I love when people actually appreciate the things I make for them. I don't think I'll try corduroy in a quilt unless I'm doing something without points...maybe a rail fence or trip around the world? I bet wide waled cord would be so soft and warm
