When you are quilting do you make mainly quilts or wall hangings?
I have to say I have never made a wall hanging yet, but I am trying to design one now. I'll show you all once I get it right. LOL
But for me it is always a quilt, I really have no use for wall hangings.
How about you?

So far I've only made wall hangings. It's funny you'd post this today though because I was looking at one of my old tattered quilts (from a yard sale but still my favorite) and thought that I need to make a new quilt out of it. I'm thinking of using the old one as my middle and making a new top and new back. Do you think it would work?

Well, you know me, and sewing. I started out with the friendship quilt block swap from another site and I am slowly finishing it up as a wall hanging. Then I hope to get brave and make a quilt. Course Deed might have to make a long trip over to the hills and help out..

Pat,
Why not make purses with it? I bought an old tattered quilt from a yard sale and cut out the good parts and made a table runner and some place mats. They turned out gorgeous. Gave them to my dd Tami. She loved them.
Or can't you bear to cut it up.??

Mainly quilts, but I have found that you can add that extra little strip across the back and then they have dual purpose.

Don't laugh Carolyn, but this quilt is my snuggly. Yep it's true. I'm 43 and when I'm having a really bad day, I want this quilt wrapped around me. You'd think by now I'd have grown up. Guess the reason it's getting so tattered is that I've had a whole lot of bad days in the last year and had to snuggle a lot.

Sure Pat, I think that would work. You may have to either machine quilt it or tie it instead of hand quilting it though. We all need snugglies in our lives. Okay Cara, sounds like a great reason for a road trip! ;D

Aww. Pat...I would be the last one to laugh at that. We all have things like that in our lives One of our children had a woobie??? I believe it was Lori..ssshhh don't tell her I told that. When our Scott left home he took a quilt that a friend made for me that he liked and when he was homesick or feeling sick he cuddled with it..And still has it and uses it. It is a piece of home and comfort for him.

I prefer to do wallhangings since they are smaller, and I like to machine quilt (so it's easier to work with small quilts)
I have made several quillows and lap quilts though.
