HELP!! I saw a nice blanket I'd like to try to make. One side is Sherpa and the other side is Faux Suede. And my Nattie pooh wants a blanket made of Faux fur & suede! Pulling my hair out here. 1) Are these materials hard to work with? 2) Do I need special thread or needles? 3) How do I make it square? (Most of my stuff is slightly crooked just a bit ) HELP! I haven't bought the material yet, but want to give her the blanket for her Birthday (Dec 22nd) so I do have some time yet ;D TIA

Never worked with it myself Ellise, I'm thinking though if you are going to be sewing through sherpa and faux suede, you will want to use at least a size 14 needle, make sure it is a new one. Not sure on special thread, best ask at the fabric store when you buy it. How to make it square - Do you have a rotary cutter, mat and ruler? That is what I would use. HTH and would love to see a pic when you do make it.

Deed, I do have a rotary cutter and mat but my mat is small!!! Maybe I can use one of Don't long metal squares? LOL I'll figure something out.

Ellise, I have 'borrowed' Jack's squares many a time for a sewing project. ;D Just make sure you clean it up first before placing it against any fabric. Go ahead ask me how I know this? LOL

No chance of me making one anytime soon that stuff is outrageouly priced around here! Not to mention how much the faux suede costs. I'd come out cheaper if I just bought the dern thing
