Question, What is the difference between a sewing machine and a serger? Mother has both and they look pretty much the same to me. Sorry to sound so ignorant

Always wondered that myself Dee. Thanks for explaining. So, unless one is going to make alot of clothing, they don't really *need* a serger. ??

Honestly Car, I use mine for just about everything, but you know me, I'm anal, I like things very neat even crafts! But yes, when I first got mine many years ago, I was making clothing left and right and mainly dealing with knits. That was when leggings were very popular.
