I saw a table skirt yesterday on the net, I just have to remember what I was looking for. I was thinking of posting it, oh well.

I want to do one just as pretty but in colors that will complement my wall color.
Deed, can you tell me about the dust ruffle/bed skirt?

Don't have a clue Ellise, as I have never made one, but I'll do my best. LOL I know the ruffle part should be twice the length of each side, so measure all the way around the box spring and multiply by 2. I think I would use muslin to lay on the box spring and stitch the ruffle to that as opposed to putting elastic all around. But then I don't like dealing with elastic much and especially not with something that size. LOL You may have to piece 2 lengths of muslin together to fit the width of the bed. You can buy it wider, but by piecing your own it will be cheaper and it won't show anyway. HTH Hang on about the table I'll be back, I know I told Jayne how to do it once on another site, so I'm off to search for it.

Whew, took a bit of looking but I found it! ;D
When you buy your fabric you will need quite a bit to do this.
This is just for instance: You need 2 yards in length and width to give you the drape you want. You will need to purchase 4 yards of fabric (or double what the length is) Then you cut the piece of fabric in 1/2, (2 yards each) and cut one piece cut down the length again. Now you will sew these to each side of the other piece. Don't forget to cut off the selvages, they will make your tablecloth pucker the first time you wash it. You will never piece it down the center, it will give you a ridge on the top of your table. This way the seams are on the sides or the drape part.
You may need someone to help you with this next bit.
For the tablecloth: Take a cloth tape measure and place '0' in the center of the table and measure across to the edge and down to the floor )or where ever you want the length to be. Mark this measurement down. Don't forget to add in the hem allowance. Could be anywhere from ½" to 3" whatever you choose.
Take your fabric and fold in half then half again. Now it is in quarters. Lay it on a flat surface, I would also put a few pins in it to hold it in place,. At the corner fold, (the point where they come together) have someone hold the '0' end of the tape measure then you with a fabric marker or pencil and using the measurement you took from the table (plus hem allowance) mark your measurement. Do it in an arc (like a 1/4 circle). Put some more pins in to hold it and carefully cut on your mark. when you unfold it, it will be a circle.
Hem.
Does that help?
