It's so hot that: the birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground. the potatoes cook underground, and all you have to do to have lunch is to pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper. farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs. the cows are giving evaporated milk. you no longer associate bridges (or rivers) with water. you can say 113 degrees without fainting. you eat hot chile peppers to cool off your mouth. you can make instant sun tea. you learn that a seat belt makes a pretty good branding iron. the temperature drops below 95 and you feel a bit chilly. you would give anything to be able to splash cold water on your face. you can attend any function wearing shorts and a tank top. the four seasons are: tolerable, hot, really hot, and ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! you discover that in July, it takes only two fingers to drive your car. you discover that you can get a sunburn through your car window. you notice the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance. hot water now comes out of both taps. it's noon in July, kids are on summer vacation, and not one person is out on the streets. you actually burn your hand opening the car door. you break a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.

Yep, that is hot Lynn and it has been pretty hot here as well. I made the mistake of going barefoot across my asphalt road to take a picture of the house and boy oh boy....Talk about hot toes.

Oh my word, Cara. You better be careful!! Tyler went over to a lake tubing with a friend on Monday. You know he is a red head....I warned him...."Make sure you put on sun screen".....of course, his reply was, "Aahhh Mom, I don't burn anymore." Yeah right. He's on the couch with cooked arms (covered in aloe, wrapped in a cool cotton sheet) because he didn't use the sunscreen and pulled his shirt off to boot! Why are boys so danged hard headed??!!! He says he is itching like mad, so I gave him benadryl to help with that.....maybe one day he will figure out that Mom isn't so dumb after all.....

Ouch, Tyler. You better listen to mom. There is such a thing as sun poison and sun stroke as well. I had both those before and they are NOT fun.
Get well quickly and take care to use that sunscreen youngun!!!
