What are some of your plans for the rest of the summer?
Is there anything you wish you had gotten done but haven't gotten around to it yet?
Are you getting ready for school to start?
What will you do once the kiddos are back in school?
1) We still have several places yet to visit this summer, not sure that we will get to all of them before summers end.
2) I wish I had more time to finish up several more projects I have going, and I wish I could have read more.
3) We go back to school in 1 month almost to the day. Getting things ready, such as supplies he will need and some clothes bought already.
4) I will be returning to work part time once school is back in session, on the days I'm not working I plan on getting many projects completed, more de-cluttering done, more research done, and more reading in.
How about you? What are some of your plans?

School starts in just under a month here. I've been browsing for school clothes. This will be my daughter's first year in public school (3rd grade) and her first year not to wear a uniform, so there are a lot of adjustments for both of us. So....for the rest of the summer, I will be getting her ready for school, getting school supplies, getting her an eye exam, and while she goes to Alabama for 10 days with her grandparents beginning the end of next week, I'm going to have her bedroom repainted and make curtains, and start on an afghan in her bedroom's new colors. I found a instructions for a wonderful crocheted afghan that is composed of 63 squares, each in a different pattern. I can't wait to start on it.
I have an afghan going now that I'm making for my best friend, who bought the wool, in 5 different colors, and I'm about 60% finished with it. All the squares are made (361 of 'em!!) and I'm assembling now. It resembles a patchwork quilt and is going to be just beautiful.
So far this summer, I've been focusing on being more organized with my time. I have set an hour twice a week to clean bathrooms, and on those days I'm washing clothes and getting them dried, folded, and put away. On Monday/Wednesday/Friday I'm dusting and vacuuming (only for an hour), and on Wednesdays I give the kitchen a scrub. No more trying to get it all done in one day and worrying so much that nothing gets done!
The biggest project so far that I've accomplished this summer is my closets and dresser drawers are organized, and that feels simply wonderful!!! I work at home, and my office is also neat, and I make a point to put everything away before I finish up for the night. It's amazing, now that things are neat and clean, they seem to stay that way. The house feels "calmer" for lack of a better word. It also smells fresher when I come in from outdoors.
We're also visiting the library every week, and I've read more this summer than I can remember in years. I think this is the most productive summer I've ever had.
I read the posts on canning, on the other board, and I'm looking forward to getting that underway, with peaches, apples, bread and butter pickles, and pasta sauce.
I never thought it was possible to have accomplished so much, but getting myself and my home organized has really made a huge difference.

Braidedrug~
Before Hearth and Home was born, we were meeting at an email loop format. It is open for us to use should this board be closed for repair, but since it generates so much email we don't use it other than that. You are free to go have a look though. You will have to sign in at yahoo. If you dont' have a yahoo email account, just set one up. I will send you an invitation.

For summer 2006. . .. . plans here are for massive yard sale. . . gotta get rid of clutter. . .
Working on life skills with Deana-- budgeting, cooking, sewing, some spirituality things. . . .
Doug will be home on June 16 for about 10 days. . . big party in the park at Scottville. So everyone will have a chance to see him before he ships overseas.
Planning on a couple days in Chicago when he's home--- Michigan Ave, Sears building, Navy Pier, maybe a museum.
In August-- Marty, Deana and I want to take a short trip somewhere. . . haven't decided where yet. . . although we might take my mom and go to PA to visit my aunt. My aunt had 5 bypasses done a while back, and is having problems again.
Otherwise, just lots of rest and relaxation --- Ha Ha Ha Ha
