Okay - no quickies here - think about the question a bit and then come back to it, perhaps.
We've nearly finished another year; name five or ten things you hope to accomplish before the end of the year.
They can range from the normal "tidy the house before Thanksgiving" to the special "host Thanksgiving Day dinner" to the miraculous "make it through the season without killing someone" - and, it doesn't have to be holiday-related. It can be as serious or silly as you like - hey, I've always wanted to go to the moon, but I think I'll leave that one off my end-of-year goals.
I'll give mine a think and come back at ya. :-)

1. Finish my first year of university with a flourish. I have four exams coming up, and am nervous about the law ones (two of them). It takes a B+ to move to the next level.
2. Plan our annual summer holiday, which normally starts on Christmas Day and lasts for a couple weeks. Alister and I load the travel trailer and 'camp out' in two places for about a week at a time, exploring the local area. We're probably going back to Alexandra/Catlins where we went last year.
3. Get the kids' Christmas presents sent away EARLY - end of November, at the latest. Also, send out cards to my various pals and family.
4. Either come to terms with staying at my current job OR finding something more suitable. If I'm going to stay where I am (as the schedule works for uni, even if I hate being away so many nights a fortnight), then I need to find a way to make it a more positive workplace.
5. Continue budgeting to get lots of little loans and such paid - I don't have a lot of debt, really, but I have a lot of short-term debt. Week three of severely limiting the money I have 'at hand' - so far, so good.
6. Talk hubby into a new fridge, decide on new curtains, compromise on paint, and in short give the house a new facelift (inside).
7. Make the house more representative of 'me' - I keep getting sidetracked and three years on, the house is pretty much as it was when I arrived, minus a couple rooms we've painted, and a few of my knick-knacks on the shelves. Well, okay, some of this may have to wait til January - at least til after exams!
8. After exams, spend more time working in the garden - which by then will be a jungle. ;-)
9. Make sure I spend more quality time with Alister. Despite some hiccups we're closer than ever, and I don't want to take that for granted.
10. Win the lottery, or find a genie in a bottle, or what the heck, fly to the moon...a girl's gotta dream big!

1. Get ds' forms finished for university
2. Nope, not planning holiday.
3. Christmas presents, have done three, two to go, and I have made a start on saving for it.
4. I have been coming to terms with staying here over the past few weeks.
5. Start saving for the first semester of boarding college for ds.
6. I don't think we can do painting this year, although it was in the original plans.
7. Keep thinking about my American country styled bedroom.
8. Plant the seeds I have bought, vegies.
9. Make sure the last few months with ds are nice.
10. Get the kids wardrobe sorted for summer.

Geeze Beth, you're making me think! Goals1. Stay healthy 2. Take less and less naps during the day and get my energy level back up. 3. Get this house cleaned up and have it stay that way! (maybe I should put that under dreams? ;D ) 4. Stop being such a pack rat! 5. Use up (okay at least put a dent in) my yarn and fabric stashes. 6. No more buying of craft stuff until I start using what I have on hand. This is a toughie! Dreams1. Sell some of the things I make all the time. 2. Buy a 5th wheel and a pick up truck and travel the country with my hubby and kids. (You said I could dream big! )

Hmmmm...is that a good thing...or just plain dangerous? ;-)
Thanks, BR and Deed, for responding - interesting reading your answers. Good to take time to remember where we're heading sometimes.
And yes, Deed - dream big! And buy a lottery ticket. ;-)
