Reconnecting with old friends

Hello Hearth and Home bodies,

Seems that I just can't find the time here of late to post here too much, I do check in from time to time to see how everyone is doing though. I am in the process of selling my house. For the past couple of months I have been living a real life HG tv show! I have painted the entire inside of my house and have done lots to make it appealing to a buyer, curb appeal and all! I finally got it on the market last week, no real bites as of yet. I am having an Open House this Saturday and it is nerve racking for sure. It is even more stressing than having friends over and wanting things to be perfect.

I am planning to move to Illinois as soon as things get sold here and I am looking forward to new things, especially grandkids. My grand daughter called me last night and asked me if I could move "tonight" so I could go to the cookie walk at her school, I had to explain to her that not only am I far away, but that it also takes time to sell a house so she said she was going to save me one of the pink ones she saw on the counter in the office after school. I can't wait until I can be that part of their lives and share in all the things that many people deem insignificant like cookie walks and girl scouts. We have a big "girls weekend" planned when I get moved and we are gonna eat cheese pizza and macaroni and cheese, play Candy Land and sleep on pallets in the living room for two nights with her friends from school, however we are not allowed to invite any boys because they are "gross". I cant wait.

I hope the house sells fast!

The other day the dance class teacher was saying how all the girls were envious of a girl whos Grandma made her costume. I thought how special that was.

I haven't heard of a cookie walk though, sounds fun. My daughter made her family some little pudding shaped treats for us all at Christmas craft last night.

I am currently in Pasadena, California. No bites yet, I think that putting it on the market the weekend after Thanksgiving was just not the proper time. Now that the holidays are over I am hoping that things will change.

I cant wait to meddle in the lives of those three gorgeous little people, I have big plans for them!

I have another Open House this Sunday and am hoping that things will pick up some, but they are such hard work especially for people like me that want perfection but have a hard time acheiving it.

I thought of another trick I learnt selling houses. It is not a pleasant one, but I try to take down family pictures etc. Maybe just hide them somewhere until they have gone.

Done that, I have very little clutter or personal items at all. I have decluttered over and over again, one thing is that it has simplified my home and mind a great deal.

I am hoping that things will pick up now that the new year is over.

Are you from California, or from Illinois, or from somewhere else entirely?

My family is totally scattered now. Only my sister Linda still lives in Florida (well, so does a paternal uncle and a maternal aunt and her husband and daughter). Mom moved to Indiana and my other sister lives in Kentucky with her 1yo son - gosh, nearly 2yo now.
