are you still hoping to reach in your life??
My teddy bear shop is my ultimate goal that I am still reaching towards......getting my weight down and getting my health back is another...The weight has always been a struggle ...I go down and up...I also feel called to have a ministry, but I am not sure what it is God would have me do...What about you??

1. Growing spiritually.
2. My health is also a major concern. It seems like when I turned 40, everything just start to fall apart. For me, I always took being healthy for granted. Not anymore. It's such a blessing to be in good health. I struggle with my weight also, Jayne.
3. Growing in my role(s) of wife and mother.
4. Not sure if I've ever told anyone IRL this, maybe 1 friend, I've always wanted to be part of a ladies prison ministry.

Oh my - I know what you mean about turning 40! Add to that 2 little kids and I am virtually insane! LOL!
I really want to learn to play the banjo. I don't know why, I just always have! I thought I was too old, but my aunt learned to play the mandolin in her 60's, so I can too!
I want to go to Hawaii. My Daddy served in the Navy in WW II and Pearl was his home port. He always wanted to go back, but never got there. I want to go in his stead.
I want to grow spiritually and and help my girls grow into strong, Christian women.
I want to do a better job as a wife and mom.
I really would love to write a book of devotionals for SAHMs. I have some written already.

~be more like Christ each day
and yes girls, I can attest to the fact that in the 40's one starts to go down hill health wise...sigh...

I agree with the 40 thing, but think Lynn has alot of life in her yet! And Cheryl, I think I have taken lightly the things you have to deal with before, just forgotten your age etc. You are doing a great job. The other day the penny dropped lol.

You all are scaring me with the declining health in the 40's. Mine's not so great as it is (though I know things could be so much worse). I shudder to think what it could be in just a few years.
I need to think about these goals and come back to this thread later.
I do know that a couple of mine are similar to Cheryl's:
~I have always wanted to learn to play the piano...ever since I was a little, little girl
~Hawaii--definitely on my must-see list. Also Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and France
Will update with more later. I need to finish my coffee before I can do such "deep thoughts" ;D

You know who to visit when you get to Australia, Michelle!
As for the 40's, it's not REALLY that bad, but you sure become invisible to the general population. On the upside, it means you have more freedom in many ways.
I would dearly love to live long enough to have a finished house, and a semi-self-sufficient house (not the current one) with solar power and a water tank.
Just one year, I'd like to have enough space to try having a veggie garden.
I really want to be able to give the kids some sort of financial help when it's time for them to buy a house.
I'd love to see my kids "finish" growing up!
I'd like to catch up with myself - after over 22 years child-rearing, I don't even remember a lot of what I believe in!

I'm a bit like that too, I have been rearing my step-kids at least part time for 22 years.
I can't decide on goals. I get tempted to try a few animals but it doesn't fit in with dhs busy work atm.
I think I am goal-less lol. I reached one goal this year with helping my son to go to uni. Maybe I am in between goals?

You know who to visit when you get to Australia, Michelle! We're saving to go in 2008. My dh belongs to a club whose bi-annual meeting will be in Australia that year. Hmmm...I just realized that it won't be summer there in June when/if we go!

Aww Michelle, I'm sorry if I scared you.....some women have little or no problems, some do. Just don't fall into the trap of judging those who do.....what goes around, comes around, I have learned! For example, I used to laugh at my mom and grandma when they would talk about women's issues that come with age...not so funny now.
One day I will share with you all what happened to me a few years ago that made me so "health aware".....and why I don't take life for granted.
I've enjoyed reading all your goals. I think they are all great!
I would love it if Cheryl could share some devotions with us, sometimes.......

You will have to bring your woolies Michelle. It depends which State you go to possibly. In Victoria June can still be nice, we have only had cold weather for a few weeks now I think. It won't be snowing or anything like that. You would need a jacket for Melbourne as it is windy. You know who to visit when you get to Australia, Michelle! We're saving to go in 2008. The conference is in Sydney...I'm embarrassed to admit how horrible my geography knowledge is, and I'll have to go research where that is. LOL
