I am searching for the secret of happiness. I want to know what makes you feel happy in your heart. What makes you feel complete. Do you feel happy about your life and why. Thanks for sharing with me.

Most days I am happy. Now that I realize that being a wife and Mom is what God wants for my life. That and embracing that as my profession and not just passing time. Coming to grips with being old-fashioned and that being okay no matter what the world thinks.
Another thing is having everyone "in the nest". I feel scattered when the girls are at school and DH is at work. I live for the time when DH walks through the door and we are all together. Even when the girls squabble and DH yells at them, I still like everyone home.
Being a homebody, I suppose, is what makes me happy.

We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.

What makes me the happiest is..... seeing my children smile and knowing we (dh and I) had a part in causing those smiles. catching my dh's eye in a roomful of people and getting that special look. having a clean organized home really brings me a sense of accomplishment and peacefulness...of course that is a work in progress! being able to create something...whether it's a meal or a page in a scrapbook. What makes me feel complete is... being myself. being a wife and a mom loving God. I am happy with my life because I feel so blessed to be alive.

For me, its quiet time to read or just to sit ouside. I also like knowing the house is clean. Its more content than happy I suppose.

Being me makes me happy.....I get depressed when I try to be what others want me to be....I loved being a stay at home mom, and now I love being a stay at home wife.... I feel most complete when I am just doing my thing around the house....I don't need a degree or a job outside the home to make me happy, and it makes me angry when people "assume" that I would be...I am doing what God intended for me to do and that is what makes me happy

I can relate Jayne. I was at the hairdresser recently and got asked if I was going to go to work next year. Then got the comment about not having to work, which I can't understand.

To me it used to be our little house and our kids, we stayed there for 16 years. I envied a lady who had a brick house right from the start as she could stay there forever in her little piece of the world.
We moved and it has taken me a long time to adjust, but I have also experienced a lot of personal growth. In our moves, the garden seems to make things homey again.

Thanks everyone for your answers. Many answers of yours are mine also. But some days I can't see or feel what makes me happy. I imagine it also happens to all of you. But I hate it when I don't see the happiness. kwim? It makes me happy this afternoon to read all your thoughts. Thank-you!

I so understand Lucie. Some days I feel like nothing I do matters and I just feel blah. HUGS!
