Here in MN we have a very short growing season, I think Lucie's growing season may be even shorter then ours.
In the last 2 week I have down another 21 pints of salsa, 10 quarts of spaghetti sauce, froze 15 pints and 3 quarts of beans,(have about 3 times that amount still so come in this weekend) . 20 quarts of Veg. soup base all canned up as well. Plus lots of berries have been made into verious jams, jellies, and juices. Will make a little homemade black berry brandy ummmm I mean elixer for the cold and flu season that will be coming our way very soon, I feel a cough coming on.....teeheehee. Also have tons of apple that will need to be taken care of as soon as we get a good frost.
I love this time of year to see the fruits of my labor all pretty in the jars for winters use.
Cindy

Wow Cindy, you are way ahead of me! My tomatoes are just starting to turn orange now. Had one for dinner last night, YUM, nothing like a tomato fresh out of the garden! I am getting lots of yellow squash and the cukes are in fits and starts. So far all I have put up are some packages of yellow squash and black raspberries in the freezer and 2 batches of sweet pickles are canned. Although I went out and looked yesterday, I'll be doing more pickles in the next day or two. I'm hoping my tomatoes start ripening all at once as I want to make sauce, salsa and of course just plain old stewed tomatoes for soups and such. Can you take a picture and show us all your pretty jars? Would love to see them!

Woo hoo Cindy, you sure have been a busy lady.. I too, love seeing all the pretty jars lined up. When I lived in the country house, I put up alot, and I always left a variety of things out to sit on the hoosier so that I could just see them so pretty. I tired homespun torn fabric on the necks of each jar for a pretty look. Can't wait to see your's

Sounds great everyone. We've canned a bunch of plum and pear jam and lots of salsa too. For the freezer, gosh I can't even remember - tomatoes, crowder peas, berries, pumpkin, green beans, green peppers, banana peppers, zucchini, yellow squash and apples. Still have lots of tomatoes, peppers, crowder beas and pumpkin coming in. We are also over run with watermelons and are sharing those with everyone we know.

Guess I'm a late starter here. I just recently canned some salsa, tomatoes, mixed fruit, and black raspberry jelly. Also froze some green peppers. Still have tons of pears left to do something with, hoping for a few more tomatoes to can, and might be buying some apples to make applesauce later on. I too love to see the jars lined up and how pretty they look.

My Mum and Nana always put their pears into syrup in jars. Recently I had some bought pears, and they really have gone downhill, they were quite hard.
Raspberry vinegar is nice, it is an alternative to cordial or Koolaid.
