hi all! i have an herb garden and i planted lemon balm along with all the other usual herbs. it grows rapidly and smells just like lemons. does any one know of uses for this herb? thanks in advance. blessings,kate

Hi Katie.
I have lemon balm as well. It is great in ice tea...I also like to use it in pot pourri mixes. Devine smelling.. Do you use it for anything else?

I had some at my old house. My uncle had lived there and he was right into herbs at different times. I just loved having it. I noticed some in my catalogue I got today. I remembered that I have camomile too. oooo, the lemon balm salad dressing sounds delish....
I love dried tussie mussies. I have a tussie mussie holder, and I like to fill it with fresh herbs and then let them dry. Such a lovely fragrance.

i use lemon balm as a tea, just steep the leaves(dried or fresh) in boiling water. add a bit of honey...yum...and calming also. i think i will make some potpourri with some also, thanks for the idea! it grows so fast i.ve got truck loads. maybe make up for gifts. thanks for the website also.

I used to make my own potpourri...I would be happy to post my potpourri recipes that I concocted myself using the lemon balm leaves, if you would like to see them.
I have 4 recipes... One I named *Noel*, one called *Cherub Spice*, one called *Sweet Citrus Scent*, and the final one is a new mix and is yet to be named, but it is lots and lots of lemony smells...LOL

carolyn, that would be great! winters coming and i like to put pot pourri and candles out. makes the house smell cozy and feel homey.

The vinegar should always be used in small amounts as a flavouring; otherwise it will "cook" the chicken before you grill it! " Ingredients 250 ml olive oil 30 ml balsamic vinegar a handful of chopped lemon balm a clove of garlic Preparation 1.
