A young couple at church with 2 small children are struggling a bit financially so I've convinced them to have a yard sale and I'm going to help and sell a few things myself. They have gobs of baby stuff, tools, fishing stuff, etc. that is just shoved in their shed. I finally convinced them that some money for it was better than letting it just sit there and rot. At first the dh was really reluctant because it would involve hard work and some stuff would only be .25, but I finally got him to understand that a few quarters here and there and you've got gas for the car, groceries, etc. I will mainly try and sell my purses and taggie baby blankets. My stuff isn't doing to great at the moment on ebay, so I may include that as well (mostly Ryan's clothes and some books). The sale isn't until 4/21 and 4/22 but I'm already getting excited. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Pat that is so generous of you to help them. I really hope it's a sucess. You're right about small amounts adding up and helping in a budget. Goodluck!

If I was a bit closer I would be interested in Ryan's clothes.

I'm hoping the weather will be good and the sales will be high. I'm going to hate it if I have to help her drag this stuff back to the shed after it's all over.

I love the purses you have on Ebay, Pat...especially the blue & purple one. I'm just worried that Joey (cat) would eat the furry trim, and I'm still paying off the vet bill from the last time he ate something he wasn't supposed to.

Being a cat owner myself, yep they go right for that trim. I have a horrible time keeping it away from Zoey (my cat). She's terrible when I'm making the scarves as well. Bad kitty cat. I'm at a point now that the weather is warming up where I'm wanting to get away from the sewing/knitting and get outdoors. I figure that if I help the other girl the yard sale and I set my stuff out, I can get a feel for what people are still interested in. Great thing is that our church is having a sale the first weekend in May and I can donate a few of the things to them to declutter my stash a bit too. Once I can get outside it seems that is all I want to do! I forget my sewing room unless something needs mending or I need to give a gift. LOL
