First off br, if this is the wrong place for this thread please feel free to move it. It isn't actually a junk find, but it is old and a new way to use old items. Dh and I were given a lovely brass door knocker and established home plate way back when. I had it on the door of every home we lived in from the time we received it as a gift. Well for some reason with all the black wrought iron hardward on our very old front door it just looks out of place and certainly out of era. So, here is what I did with it.

I purchased two frames on sale, trimmed out the matting on the large one, added some really fancy swirly vellum paper to pick up the swirls in the frames, added some gingham ribbon in sage, which will be the colour on the stairway walls where this will hang. The large frame as you can see holds the door knocker with the big W on it and the smaller plate says Williamson, established in 1968, which was the year we married.
The small frame to the side holds a picture of this house printed out in sepia tones to look old.
You can't see the side porch for the large tree, but to the very left is a screened in porch that is 15 by 30 feet long. I love being out there.
Anyway, this is what I do best, especially when it is hot. Stayed tuned to see my next project...Who knows what that will be but I am having the time of my life.

Thanks ladies. Aww Jayne, your too sweet.
Working on my next project tomorrow. Dh stripped all the wall paper backing off the entryway, hall way and stairway. I took some before pics. Will of course share those when it is painted, the border is up and the walls are decorated.
Anyone wanna come help in this heat!!
