At our new house, the previous owners had partitioned off part of what used to be the back verandah but now is a lovely in some ways windowed area with nice views, a step down from the dining and kitchen areas. It is only lined with that cheap lining but the windows are modern. They partitioned off one end that has a door in it for a toilet. The flooring is concrete. Most of the back area is in kitchen carpet, not very practical but could be a sunroom. The toilet is painted concrete. The toilet has windows in it that used to look onto the bedroom. We had had different glass put in there and filled in the gap between the window edge and the partititon. I love the colors in that room. We replaced the leaking toilet. Today we were very happy to find at the tip/dump a 1960s very solid and unchipped basin. We were going to have to find one anyway as the plumber intends to put a basin in the toilet. It even "came" with brackets to mount it onto the wall. We did save a pink one once but didn't get to use it. This one is better, a nice size. It is a little heavy to carry though!

The basin was installed today, that was quick. It is slightly too high, but I am really happy with it in that I won't have to stoop to wash my hands, which I find difficult sometimes. We installed it under a window sill. It is made of cast iron.

This basin is getting two new taps hopefully. I think they are called pillar taps, and the set can be found at Caroma. www.caroma.com.au/products/data/tap/ultra4/main.htmThese aren't as pretty as trident ones, but the set can be used in solid brick houses.

Originally we wanted Posh Bristol. We may be able to get what we want in that still. I.e. the special taps.
The caroma one I linked to is obsolete, but probably still available for awhile.

We got Posh Bristol or a look alike, a lot like what was there already. DH cut the old taps to get them off. The plumber has installed them, but we are waiting on an outlet pipe to use them.
