Tell us how patriotic you consider yourself and why. What do you do to support your country. Where did you learn your sense of patriotism? Would you say your more patriotic than most?
If your not patriotic tell us why.

I consider myself *very* patriotic. I can't see the flag or sing the National Anthem without tearing up. I try to keep up to date on what is happening in our country. I wouldn't think of not voting. I support our troops 100%. We fly the flag at our home. I believe in the USA.
I learned my patriotism from my Dad. Dad was a WWII veteran, and talked about our country all the time. He taught me to love it or leave it. When the Anthem was played we better be on our feet, hand over our heart and we better be singing our lungs out. My dad wasn't one to disply his emotions, but I never saw him tear up like he did when the anthem was played and the flag was flown. I think this is one of the greatest things my Dad taught me. It has stuck with me to this day.
I would say that alot of people are patriotic when a war is going on, but when the country is at peace, I would say that I am an above average patriot.
How bout You?

I am proud to be Canadian but I am also as proud to be a Quebecoise. But I have to admit that I admire the patriotism that you have Carolyn and that most americans have. Since I was a young girl, I saw how important and proud americans are and I wish the patriotism was as strong here in Canada...

I consider myself very patriotic. I also live by the rules of the US flag and display it only in the way in which it was meant to be.
All the males in my family have been active duty military and we have covered every branch of the Uniformed service in one way or another.
I am a strong supporter not only as the child of Military service but also as the proud Wife of the military. I watched my sweet hubby be deployed to 3 different war zones and stood beside my sisters and brothers proudly waving my flag, I have cried with and have comfortaed those who have lost their loved ones during battle.
So Yes I think I am a bit more patriotic than some, and I get really ticked off when people talk down about our Military.

I like Lucy am very proud to live in my State. I live in a border town now, so I am learning to like our northern state and the little territory that is inside it. They are so different.
I was married on Australia Day and my photographer took photos of people dressed up for the occasion. We celebrate our anniversary with a national dish the pavlova. We get pavlova magic in our Christmas hamper and keep it for our anniversary. I won't buy a hamper that doesn't have pavlova in it lol.

BR , what is pavlova? Are your territories like our states, or like our counties?

Pavlova is a meringue shell filled with cream and decorated with fruit. The Australian Capital Territory is kind of a state, so is the Northern Territory, except they are not self governing? The ACT is around the city of Canberra, my closest city. Canberra is like Washington D.C. Canberra was designed by an American called Walter Burley Griffin. They just decided to build a bush city in that location for the government. www.aussie-info.com/identity/food/pavlova.php
