Just thought this was an interesting tidbit of info. Seneca Army Depot is about an hour or so NW of us. Yesterday while out for a drive we went by it. They have sold the base housing to a private company, that has fixed it up and now rents it out to civilians. Seneca Army DepotThe youth facility is no longer just a proposal, there is major construction going on to build it. Never seen those deer, that would have been neat. Think they got that way from the toxic waste? I don't think I would want to live there voluntarily after it was a hazardous waste facility for years.

It's sad to see mailitary bases close down, but I am happy to see they are using them now instead of just letting them sit there and no one using them.
As for the deer? you're probably right.
Living there? Not me, Don was a NBC (Neculear, Biological, Chemical) NCO for 10 years. That stuff is way too scarey for me to live near.

They seen to be closing many bases. Sad isn't it? Also have heard Lori speak of selling military housing and converting it to civilian use. We NEED our military...

selling military housing and converting it to civilian use....
From what I understand, they are privitizing all housing on military installations. At least all the Army ones are being done. Not sure what I think of that. We haven't lived on post in a few years. It will be interesting to see how the civillian companies do as landlords lol
