My dh's collegue and friend was killed in Iraq on Sunday night. He leaves behind a wife and 2 teen children. The guys in my dh's company and the wives here could all use your prayers. I will be busy helping out and attending services in addition to Christmas with my kids, so if you don't see me on for a while, that's what I am doing. Thanks Melody

(((((hugs to the family and friends)))))
Tell us more about him, if you like, when you have time. In the meantime, take care.

Beth, he was one of those people who never seemed to meet a stranger. He was always smiling, laughing and talking. He had a great sense of humor and I think he could have made a lamp post laugh. I always liked it when he buzzed me though the gate at my dh's work, because he would stop and chat with me rather than just tell me where dh was. He was like that with everyone. When we would all get together socially as a group, he was guaranteed to make it fun, because just being around him you were gonna smile.
It makes it hard because on top of dealing with the loss of our friend, we wives here know that the guys are not back yet and we still have to get through the rest of the deployment. My dh is safer than some, because he is back in the office instead of out on the roads.

He's a hero. What a great legacy. I know you all must feel so honored to have known him.
Thanks for sharing that article.

Mel, I went out of town so I am just reading about the friend you lost. Thanks for sharing a bit about him, and for sharing the article. Fort Campbell seems to have lost "more than its share" the last couple years; it can't be easy for those left behind to worry night and day about your loved ones in Iraq, but know that the rest of us are grateful for your sacrifice.
