I got a letter from my son in Marine Boot Camp- I write him every day, and he's asked me to write to his "rackmate" (the guy who shares the bunk stand with him). He says his rackmate doesn't get any mail.
So, since I know NOTHING about this guy, I'm looking for uplifting stories, poems, cartoons, etc.
I'll be raiding the archives, but if you have some sites, etc. I'd apprecitate it. We have 9 more weeks to go.

Maybe we could take turns writing to him.

You know, my BIL told me when he was in Boot Camp that just hearing about everyday things was ok as well as hearing supportive things. I will look to see what I can find for you though. Hugs to you for doing this. I am sure it will really mean alot to that young man.

Great! I guess I can post the address here? I'm hesitant to post much on public boards, but it's just a temporary address while they are in boot camp.
Here is Tim's address-- my son's bunkmate
Recruit Holland T. 1st Bn "D" Co. Plt 1101 MCRD San Diego CA 91420-1101
Doug's address is the same, only address to:
Recruit Green D. H.
In case you want to write to him too-- he's getting mail from me everyday, and other family members periodically.
