We decided to get a freezer, finally. Our garden has been very productive and I seem to be spending a good chunk of time each night fixing something to go in the freezer. So far I've put up: Squash, zucchini, banana peppers, green peppers, tomatoes, green beans, and a few purple hull peas. The peas are just starting to come in good and we have purple hull and crowder peas. I'd already put up the cherries earlier in the season and now we are getting a few apples to put up. Our peach trees once again did nothing but make a mess. The fungus and bugs are determined to eat every peach we grow. Gonna try one more year with them. We even sprayed them this year but it was useless. Guess I'll need to buy a few peaches to put up.
So what have you put aside in the freezer for winter time?

So far, I have put up snow peas, raspberries, and some corn. Going to put up some tomatoes for stews and soups hopefully.

So far for me just blackcaps about 8 quarts and 3 packages of yellow squash.
I have more squash to freeze today and I'll hopefully be canning some sweet pickles.

I have put up some fruits (from the stands) our trees didn't do well at all this year and the cherries got eaten by our doggies ;D
I did put up some silver queen corn and some tomatoes from the neighbor but that's about it.

We are still putting crowder peas, pumpkin, tomatoes and peppers in the freezer. Our first garden has given us a wonderfully blessed harvest - lots of goodies for the winter.
