Just wondering if any of you freeze any fruits and veggies as they come into season?
I still have about a ½ a freezer full of berries from last year. But I plan on picking again this year. ROFL I also want to go picking strawberries soon and freeze them along with broccoli, cauliflower, beans and corn when the crops come in. I planted cauliflower this year, but the others I will get at the farm market.

Okay Ellise, how do you freeze cabbage? I assume you blanch it first? For how long? Or do you make up your cabbage rolls and then freeze them?

I don't usually, though I'd like to when I can get them really cheap. I still have a ton of blackberries from Dee from last year, so I won't be needing any of those for a long while! I'd like to get blueberries and strawberries when they go on sale this year, and I guess raspberries too as they are Dave's favorites. I want to freeze zucchini this year too. I love zucchini in the winter time!

Deed, I blanch them for 2-3 minutes, then make my rolls or hulupki ;D. Bake 1/2 way through, Flash freeze to keep the taste. then bag them and freeze.
They really are tastey when you rewarm them.

Last year, we did blackberries and cherries. This year we hope to actually get some of the other fruit from our trees as well as a few veggies from the garden. The way it looks now, maybe I will get enough for a pot of soup. LOL They sure are growing slow.
