For some reason the whole URL to the microwave didn't link. If you hit the link, then copy and paste the text I posted into the address bar it will take you there. It's an over the range microwave.
They are going to deliver and install the stove on Wednesday. Then we are going to measure for cabinets on that wall, over the fridge and microwave, before dh intsalls the microwave. I wanted to put a potato bin in between the stove and fridge, but these appliances are much larger and I don't think it will fit. I think we'll probably put the stove up aginst the fridge and I'll find something small to put between the stove and the door.
I'm working on my bathroom too. I got several pieces of Target's frog collection. It's very cute.

Every thing sounds so nice Karen. I love the *nuker*. I have one almost like that over my range. Enjoy... Have you considered a slide out bking pan or lid cabinet for that small space..
Frogs, too cute. Can't wait to see pics..What type of cabinets are you planning to get..

Oh Karen, that is our dream stove. Our first stove was an old one, gas and about 600mm is a little less than 30 inches. We have found it hard to cook on electric. Do you have natural gas at your farmhouse or do you use bottles? Our stove here, I am sure when we bought the house the stove was a different color, I think they switched, has the door to the oven that needs a chair to keep it shut, I opened it too wide last week. Maybe dh can fix it.
I haven't seen a fridge near a stove before. We did have a neat cupboard near our stove in our in between house, that we kept our rubbish in, it was quite handy. The people made it into a cupboard after they took out the wood stove. Our fridge is in a tiny room, well not that tiny, off the kitchen that the previous owners installed a little sink and place for the clothes washer on a wall where you can't see it easily. We installed an overhead cupboard we bought from Bunnings a hardward chain. We should have a new kitchen, recently we installed a dishwasher into one of the smaller kitchen cupboards.

Hey BR! Sounds like you could use Mom's old stove, even if the oven doesn't work quite right, at least the door stays shut! I wish I could send it to you! Would you like to come get it? I hope your dh can fix it for you.
We use propane (LP gas) to cook and heat with. We have a 350 or so gallon tank in the back yard.
My stove and fridge sat next to each other in our old house too, just switched around. It's awefully hard to keep the side of the fridge clean when dh cooks!
I'd like to have a cabinet above the fridge to keep barely used appliances or what not and I want a shelf over the microwave to keep cookbooks and such. I'd like to have some sort of spice rack right there too. We need to get the appliances in and measure. That'll help me decide.

Ooooh, I'm envious! <smacks angel of envy off shoulds> I *so* want a new fridge; our current one keeps things a bit TOO cold! Here in NZ, it's common to find fridges with the freezer on bottom, and with the fridge malfunctioning, the vege crispers, which are nearest the freezer, are useless except for storing bottles of drinks (which will get icy if left in the fridge for a day or two). I have found the one I want, but as it's about $3000NZD it'll have to wait til the new year, I think. I've also seen a stove I want - six burners, beautiful. Both are polished gray for that commercial kitchen look.
Of course, then I'll have to get a microwave to match...and a new toaster...and perhaps a dishwasher...and of COURSE the 1970s yellow benchtops (countertops) will have to go...and new cabinets wouldn't go astray...and...well, the linoleum, which looks decent enough in its current environment, would look a bit out of place with so much new stuff.
Yes! I want to totally revamp the kitchen!
I am aching for a decent pantry, and better arrangment. I reckon as I'm the one who cooks all the meals, I should have total say-so in the way the kitchen is laid out. ;-)
At least I have a very lovely spice rack. Alister spent hours making it for me for last Christmas, and I love it. Before that, I went mad looking for a particular spice or herb.
