I have been working as a paid child care worker at our church for a while. I did it last year, but decided to stop when I realized that I was spending every waking hour with kids - mine or someone else's. So, I didn't go back to teaching at the preschool and I quit as a nursery worker.
Well, after our bankruptcy filing one of the other paid workers quit. I agreed to fill in until after Christmas and see if I wanted to continue it. I don't. Now, it looks like they have someone hired to take my spot, so I will not have to work much longer.
But, I am fighting feeling guilty over all this. I KNOW I am supposed to be at home with the girls - it is where my heart is. But I feel guilty for not taking any opportunity given to work.
Sometimes I feel like God put this job out there to see if I would trust HIM to provide or try to do it myself. And, I also feel like people don't understand why I would give up any kind of paying job given our recent financial fiasco.
But, they can't understand that the joy is in my being and doing at home. And the stretching is coming from trusting God to provide for us.
Anyway - just needed to vent a little. Thanks for listening.

{{{hugs}}} Cheryl. Its always easy for people to judge, but not so easy to try to understand. Don't let them get to you. You have to do what is best for your family. That might or might not be the same thing others would do.
Just keep praying on it and HE won't let you down.

Cheryl,
HE will never be sorry that you stayed home with your children. Do not let others get to you. You do what is right for your family and let them decide what they wish to do. I know one thing, I never once heard a SAHM say she wished she had worked but I have heard many a mom say she wished she has stayed home and NOT worked.
Hugs and much love!!!

Both posts were good advice. I support your wish to stay home.
You can save heaps being at home, and being bankrupt is like a clean slate. It is over with. Hope I am making sense.
I treasure all the days at home with my eldest and now he has left home I know how important it was.

Cheryl, as long as YOU feel you are doing the right thing, then you are.
BTW, how did you do your signature? Pretty nifty!

I found the rainbow name on a blinkie website which I can't find again! LOL! I am not talented enough to make them myself.
