Reviewing expenses

One of the easiest ways to save money can be reviewing all annual expenses as they come due. For example, when the car insurance renewal comes through, I call around/check the internet to see whether there's anything cheaper.

Anyone else do this?

I must admit I don't do it with things like insurance. But I imagine these days it pays to check things often.
